Artificial intelligence, illegalised mobility and lucrative alchemy of border utopia

Artificial intelligence (AI) has captured the interest of academia and a range industries. Much this appeal is driven by obsession with military political supremacy, desire to control people their movements. This article looks at expansion impact AI systems deployed along physical borders on mobility illegalised non-citizens border security in Global North. Using case study Silicon Valley’s Anduril, focuses US–Mexico assesses AI’s role hindering reconfiguring control. Two key contributions are made paper. First, advances must become focus criminologies, examined within milieu from which technology emerged. Second, virtual walls commercial, anti-humanitarian.
